It helps show how well your liver is working and detects signs of inflammation or cell damage often caused by infections, alcohol use, or medication side effects. Doctors use these results to help rule out liver injury or blockage in the bile ducts. However, this test alone cannot identify the specific cause of liver damage or diagnose a specific disease without further evaluation.
