Thyroid Cascade Profile
This test begins by measuring Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH), a chemical messenger that controls how your thyroid gland functions. If your TSH level is outside the normal range, the lab automatically performs additional tests to measure specific thyroid hormones. This step-by-step process helps doctors investigate symptoms like fatigue or weight changes to see if your thyroid is underactive or overactive. However, this profile is not designed for children or for monitoring patients who are already receiving treatment for thyroid disease.
