Protein Electrophoresis, Random Urine
This test measures and separates the different types of proteins found in a single urine sample. It helps show if protein in the urine is resulting from kidney damage or from the body producing abnormal proteins. This pattern helps doctors distinguish between kidney filtering issues and conditions like multiple myeloma or amyloidosis. However, this test does not confirm a specific diagnosis on its own and may require follow-up testing to identify the exact proteins involved.
