Cancer Antigen (CA) 125 (Serial Monitor)
This test measures the amount of CA 125, a protein often released into the blood by ovarian cancer cells. Doctors primarily use this test to track how well cancer treatment is working or to check if the cancer has returned after therapy. Monitoring changes in these levels helps show whether the disease is stable or progressing. However, this test cannot diagnose cancer by itself, as other non-cancerous conditions can also cause high levels.
