Ferritin (Serial Monitor)

This test measures the level of ferritin in your blood, a protein that stores iron for your body to use later. It helps show if your iron reserves are too low, which can cause fatigue, or too high, which can damage organs. This measurement helps doctors rule out iron deficiency anemia or iron overload disorders. However, because inflammation or infection can temporarily raise ferritin levels, this test cannot identify the underlying cause of an iron imbalance on its own.
