# Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA), Free:Total Ratio Reflex

> This test compares the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) floating freely in the blood to the total amount of PSA. It is useful for men with slightly elevated total PSA levels to help determine the cause of the increase. This measurement helps doctors distinguish between prostate cancer and benign conditions like an enlarged prostate. While it guides further testing, it cannot diagnose cancer by itself and does not replace a biopsy.
