Aldosterone, LC/MS (Endocrine Sciences)

This test measures the level of aldosterone, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that controls salt and water balance in the body. It helps identify whether high blood pressure or abnormal potassium levels are related to how your glands function. This measurement helps rule out disorders involving overactive or underactive adrenal glands. However, this test cannot pinpoint the exact cause of a hormone imbalance by itself and is often interpreted alongside other results.
