Diabetes Autoimmune Profile

This test measures specific antibodies in your blood that mistakenly attack the insulin-producing cells in your pancreas. It helps show whether the immune system is the underlying cause of high blood sugar, which is the defining feature of Type 1 diabetes. This distinction helps doctors differentiate between Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes to guide treatment decisions. However, this test does not measure your current blood sugar levels or determine how well your glucose is currently controlled.
