> This test measures specific proteins in the blood that are released when the liver develops scarring. It produces a score that helps doctors estimate the severity of liver damage, specifically in patients with fatty liver disease. This assessment helps determine if the liver is at risk of progressing to advanced scarring or cirrhosis. While a low score can help rule out severe fibrosis, this test cannot diagnose the underlying cause of liver disease or replace a full medical evaluation.
