This test measures levels of Candida albicans, a common yeast that naturally lives in the body but can cause health issues if it grows out of control. It helps determine if an overgrowth of this fungus is contributing to symptoms like digestive upset, fatigue, or recurring infections. By identifying a potential fungal contribution, this test helps rule out bacterial or viral causes for your condition. It cannot, however, diagnose a specific disease by itself, as small amounts of this yeast are normal in healthy individuals.
