It helps show whether your immune system views oats as a harmful invader, which is useful if you experience reactions like hives, itching, or stomach upset after eating them. This measurement helps doctors distinguish between a true allergic reaction to oats and other sensitivities. However, this test alone cannot predict the severity of a future allergic reaction or diagnose gluten intolerance.
