It helps show whether your immune system treats this milk protein as harmful, which can cause symptoms like hives, stomach pain, or breathing problems. This measurement helps doctors distinguish a potential milk allergy from other digestive issues, such as lactose intolerance. However, a positive result indicates sensitization and does not predict exactly how severe a future allergic reaction might be.
