> This test measures specific antibodies in your blood to see if your immune system reacts to Rhizopus nigricans, a common mold often found on decaying food. It helps show whether this specific mold is the cause of allergy symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, or asthma. By identifying this sensitivity, the test helps rule out other environmental triggers like pollen or pet dander. It does not, however, diagnose a fungal infection or predict the severity of a future allergic reaction.
