Epicoccum purpur
This test measures the amount of antibodies in your blood that react to Epicoccum purpurascens, a common mold found in soil and decaying plants. It helps show if your immune system is sensitive to this mold, which can cause symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes, or asthma. This information helps doctors decide if mold is the cause of your symptoms rather than other triggers like pollen or pets. However, this test cannot diagnose an allergy on its own, as it only shows if your body has reacted to the mold in the past and must be reviewed alongside your medical history.
