Ispaghula
This test measures the amount of specific IgE antibodies in your blood that react to ispaghula, also known as psyllium husk. It helps show whether your immune system is sensitive to this fiber, which is often found in laxatives and cereals, potentially explaining symptoms like skin rashes or breathing difficulties. By identifying this specific sensitivity, the test helps distinguish a psyllium allergy from other causes of allergic reactions. However, a positive result indicates sensitization but does not predict how severe a future reaction might be.
