> This test measures specific antibodies in your blood produced in response to Toluene Diisocyanate (TDI), a chemical commonly found in foams, glues, and paints. It helps show whether your immune system is reacting to this chemical, which is useful for investigating work-related breathing difficulties or skin rashes. This testing helps identify if chemical exposure is the likely trigger for your symptoms rather than a standard infection or common allergy. However, detecting these antibodies only indicates sensitivity and does not by itself diagnose occupational asthma or measure the exact amount of chemical exposure.
