# Isocyanate MDI

> This test measures specific antibodies in your blood that react to Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate (MDI), a chemical commonly used in industrial foams, paints, and glues. It helps show whether your immune system has become overly sensitive to this substance, which is useful for evaluating breathing problems or skin reactions that occur in the workplace. By detecting these antibodies, the test helps doctors distinguish between chemical sensitivities and other types of respiratory conditions. However, this test cannot diagnose occupational asthma by itself or determine exactly how much of the chemical you were exposed to.
