# Staphylococcus Enterotoxin A

> This test measures the level of IgE antibodies in your blood directed against Staphylococcus Enterotoxin A, a protein produced by Staph bacteria. It helps show if an immune reaction to this toxin is contributing to chronic inflammation, particularly in conditions like severe eczema or chronic sinusitis. This measurement helps differentiate between symptoms caused by standard allergens and those worsened by bacterial toxins. It does not, however, diagnose an active Staph infection or confirm a specific episode of food poisoning.
