> This test measures the level of specific antibodies in your blood that react to Tyrophagus putrescentiae, a type of storage mite often found in dust and stored foods. It helps show whether these mites are the cause of allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, or asthma flare-ups. By identifying this specific trigger, the test helps distinguish a storage mite allergy from other environmental sensitivities. However, a positive result only indicates an immune response and does not predict exactly how severe a future reaction might be.
