# Rat Epithelium

> This test measures the amount of IgE antibodies in your blood that react to rat epithelium, which includes skin cells and dander. It helps show whether contact with rats is causing symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, or asthma. This information helps rule out other environmental allergies as the source of your reactions. While it detects an immune response, this test cannot determine exactly how severe a future allergic reaction might be.
