It helps show whether your immune system is sensitive to these birds, which is useful if you experience coughing, wheezing, or skin irritation after exposure. This information helps doctors determine if a pet bird is the source of your symptoms rather than another environmental trigger. However, this test alone cannot diagnose a specific lung disease or predict how severe an allergic reaction might be.
