> This test measures specific IgE antibodies in your blood that react to the mold types found in cheese. It helps show whether your immune system is sensitive to these molds, which is helpful if you have symptoms like itching or swelling after eating cheeses like blue cheese or brie. This measurement helps distinguish a specific allergy to cheese mold from other reactions to dairy products. However, it cannot diagnose lactose intolerance or predict the severity of an allergic reaction by itself.
