# Coffee

> This test measures the level of IgE antibodies in your blood that react specifically to coffee proteins. It helps show whether your immune system is triggering a reaction, which is useful if you experience hives, swelling, or stomach issues after consuming coffee. This information helps differentiate a true food allergy from other types of reactions. It cannot, however, diagnose caffeine sensitivity, acid reflux, or general intolerance to coffee that does not involve the immune system.
