Carob Bean
This test measures the level of specific antibodies in your blood that react to carob bean, a legume often used as a chocolate substitute. It helps show whether your immune system is sensitized to carob, which is relevant if you experience symptoms like itching or swelling after eating products containing carob gum or flour. This measurement helps rule out carob as a cause of allergic reactions compared to other food ingredients. However, this test alone cannot predict the severity of a future allergic reaction.
