# Horse Fly

> This test measures the level of specific antibodies in your blood that react to horse flies. It helps show whether your immune system is sensitive to these insects, which is useful for investigating severe swelling, itching, or other reactions after a bite. This measurement helps rule out other causes for your symptoms, such as allergies to different biting insects. However, this test cannot predict how severe a future reaction will be or provide a diagnosis on its own.
