Allergen Profile, Walnut, IgE Components
This test measures specific IgE antibodies in your blood that react to distinct proteins found in walnuts. It helps show whether a reaction is caused by proteins associated with severe allergic risks or by milder proteins often linked to pollen allergies. This distinction helps doctors differentiate between a true, potentially dangerous food allergy and cross-reactivity that typically causes only mouth itching. However, this test cannot predict exactly how severe a future reaction will be or confirm an allergy without a review of your symptoms and medical history.
