Alpha-Gal IgE Panel

This test measures the amount of specific antibodies in your blood that react to alpha-gal, a sugar molecule found in red meat and products made from mammals. It helps show whether your immune system is sensitive to this trigger, which is often linked to delayed allergic reactions after eating meat or following a tick bite. This testing helps distinguish alpha-gal syndrome from other causes of unexplained hives or severe allergic responses. However, having these antibodies does not guarantee you have an active allergy, so a doctor must interpret the results alongside your specific symptoms and history.
