> This test measures the level of specific antibodies in your blood that react to latex, a material found in natural rubber products. It helps show whether your immune system is sensitive to latex, which is useful if you experience itching, rashes, or breathing trouble after contact with rubber gloves or balloons. This measurement helps distinguish a latex allergy from other skin irritations or environmental sensitivities. However, this test cannot diagnose an allergy on its own and does not predict the severity of future reactions.
