Allergen Profile, Birch Pollen Related
This test measures the level of specific antibodies in your blood that react to birch pollen and similar proteins found in certain foods. It helps determine if your seasonal allergy symptoms or mouth itching when eating fruits and nuts are caused by a reaction to birch pollen components. This information helps distinguish between a primary pollen allergy and cross-reactions known as oral allergy syndrome. However, this test alone cannot predict the severity of a future allergic reaction or confirm a diagnosis without a review of your medical history.
