> This test measures the level of manganese, a mineral your body needs in small amounts, in your blood. It helps show whether you have been exposed to toxic levels of manganese, which can occur in certain industrial settings or through environmental contamination. Doctors use this result to help rule out manganese poisoning as a cause of neurological symptoms like tremors or stiffness. However, this test cannot diagnose specific diseases by itself, and a normal level does not guarantee that past exposure has not caused lasting damage.
