# Arsenic, Serum or Plasma

> This test measures the level of arsenic in the liquid part of your blood to check for recent exposure to this toxic metal. It helps show whether sudden symptoms like severe nausea, vomiting, or nerve pain are related to acute arsenic poisoning. Because arsenic leaves the bloodstream very quickly, this test is best for identifying exposure that happened within the last few hours or days. It cannot detect long-term or past exposure, as arsenic moves out of the blood rapidly.
